Snapchat Integration

AdTarget sends conversion events to Snapchat when users join your Telegram channel. This helps Snapchat’s algorithm optimize your ad delivery for real conversions.

How It Works

  1. Visitor clicks your Snapchat ad and lands on your page
  2. AdTarget captures the Snapchat click ID (ScCid)
  3. They join your Telegram channel
  4. AdTarget sends a conversion event to Snapchat via the Conversions API

This creates a closed feedback loop: Snapchat learns which ad clicks lead to Telegram joins.

Why Use the Conversions API?

Browser tracking is unreliable. Ad blockers, iOS privacy, and browser restrictions break traditional pixel tracking.

The Conversions API is server-side. AdTarget sends conversion data directly to Snapchat’s servers, bypassing browser limitations.

Better optimization. More accurate conversion data means Snapchat’s algorithm can find better audiences for your ads.

What You’ll Need

  • A Snapchat Ads Manager account
  • A Snapchat Pixel ID (UUID format)
  • A Conversions API access token

Quick Setup

  1. Set up your Snapchat Pixel in AdTarget
  2. Configure Conversions API events to send

Conversion Events

AdTarget maps its event types to Snapchat’s standard events:

AdTarget EventSnapchat EventDescription
LeadSIGN_UPPrimary lead generation event
PurchasePURCHASERevenue-focused campaigns
CompleteRegistrationSIGN_UPSignup-focused campaigns
SubscribeSUBSCRIBESubscription-focused campaigns
CustomCUSTOM_EVENT_1For specific campaign needs

You choose which event type to send based on your campaign objectives.

Attribution Window

Tracked invite links expire after 7 days. If a user joins using the tracked link within that window, the conversion is attributed. If they join after the link expires or via other means, the join appears as organic.

FAQ

Does AdTarget replace my existing Snapchat Pixel?

No. Keep your existing pixel for website events. AdTarget adds Telegram conversion events that your pixel can’t track.

What data does AdTarget send to Snapchat?

AdTarget sends these parameters via the Conversions API:

  • event_type — The configured event type (SIGN_UP, PURCHASE, etc.)
  • timestamp — ISO 8601 timestamp of the join
  • event_tag — Event tag for categorization
  • sc_click_id — The Snapchat Click ID from the ad click
  • hashed_ip_address — Visitor’s IP address
  • user_agent — Visitor’s browser user agent
  • hashed_external_id — Telegram user ID (SHA-256 hashed)
  • custom_fields — Value, currency, and content name if configured per channel

Is this compliant with Snapchat’s data policies?

Yes. AdTarget follows Snapchat’s Conversions API data processing guidelines. No personal data is stored beyond what’s needed for attribution.
