TikTok Integration

AdTarget sends conversion events to TikTok when users join your Telegram channel. This helps TikTok’s algorithm optimize your ad delivery for real conversions.

How It Works

  1. Visitor clicks your TikTok ad and lands on your page
  2. AdTarget captures the TikTok click ID (ttclid)
  3. They join your Telegram channel
  4. AdTarget sends a conversion event to TikTok via the Events API

This creates a closed feedback loop: TikTok learns which ad clicks lead to Telegram joins.

Why Use the Events API?

Browser tracking is unreliable. Ad blockers, iOS privacy, and browser restrictions break traditional pixel tracking.

The Events API is server-side. AdTarget sends conversion data directly to TikTok’s servers, bypassing browser limitations.

Better optimization. More accurate conversion data means TikTok’s algorithm can find better audiences for your ads.

What You’ll Need

  • A TikTok Ads Manager account
  • A TikTok Pixel Code (web event source)
  • An Events API access token

Quick Setup

  1. Set up your TikTok Pixel in AdTarget
  2. Configure Events API events to send

Conversion Events

AdTarget can send these events to TikTok:

AdTarget EventTikTok EventDescription
LeadSubmitFormPrimary lead generation event
PurchasePurchaseRevenue-focused campaigns
CompleteRegistrationCompleteRegistrationSignup-focused campaigns
SubscribeSubscribeSubscription-focused campaigns
CustomYour custom nameFor specific campaign needs

You choose which event type to send based on your campaign objectives.

Attribution Window

Tracked invite links expire after 7 days. If a user joins using the tracked link within that window, the conversion is attributed. If they join after the link expires or via other means, the join appears as organic.

FAQ

Does AdTarget replace my existing TikTok Pixel?

No. Keep your existing pixel for website events. AdTarget adds Telegram conversion events that your pixel can’t track.

What data does AdTarget send to TikTok?

AdTarget sends these parameters via the Events API:

  • event — The configured event type (SubmitForm, Purchase, etc.)
  • timestamp — ISO 8601 timestamp of the join
  • context.ad.callback — The ttclid from the ad click
  • context.ip — Visitor’s IP address
  • context.user_agent — Visitor’s browser user agent
  • context.user.external_id — Telegram user ID (SHA-256 hashed)
  • properties.value, properties.currency, properties.content_name — If configured per channel

Is this compliant with TikTok’s data policies?

Yes. AdTarget follows TikTok’s Events API data processing guidelines. No personal data is stored beyond what’s needed for attribution.
